Shiba Inu
The Shiba Inu is quite different from our other breeds. Shibas are intelligent, alert, athletic, and famously independent. Originally developed in Japan, they are a compact but sturdy breed with a distinctive fox-like appearance. They tend to be naturally clean dogs and are often very particular about themselves and their surroundings.
Shibas can be affectionate and deeply bonded to their families, but they are generally more independent than breeds such as Golden Retrievers or Pugs. They are intelligent enough to learn quickly but can also have definite opinions about whether they want to cooperate! Consistent training, early socialization, and secure fencing are particularly important with this breed. For someone who appreciates an intelligent dog with confidence, independence, and plenty of personality, the Shiba Inu can be an exceptionally rewarding companion.
Our ACA Registered Shiba Inu puppies are intelligent, confident, and full of personality! Shibas are known for their beautiful fox-like appearance, alert nature, and independent spirit. Our puppies receive plenty of hands-on attention and socialization as they grow, helping them become confident and comfortable with their families.
Shibas are curious little adventurers who love exploring and figuring things out for themselves. They can be playful and affectionate while still having that wonderfully independent personality the breed is famous for. Our goal is to raise happy, well-socialized Shiba Inu puppies that are ready to bring years of companionship, laughter, and a little Shiba mischief to their new families.

Start With a Conversation
Call or text us. Tell us what you’re looking for, ask questions and let us help you get to know the puppies.
Short Application
When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll have you complete our short and simple puppy application.
Schedule a Visit
Come to Hard Run Acres and spend some time with the puppy or puppies you’re interested in.
Reserve at 4+ Weeks
Once puppies reach four weeks old, families may reserve their puppy with a refundable deposit.
Come Back & Visit
Reserved a younger puppy? Our Grow With Me Program lets you come back for visits while your puppy grows.
Go Home Around 8 Weeks
Once your puppy is ready, you’ll complete the paperwork and take your new family member home.
